Dear Bicycle Industry Colleagues:

We wanted to share an update on Specialty Bike Expo. Since the concept of Specialty Bike Expo was developed, the original idea was to create a conference and tradeshow that would achieve two important objectives:

1. Provide retailers and their staff educational opportunities that will contribute to their growth, development and ultimate success,
2. Create an interactive forum where suppliers would be met by qualified independent bicycle retailers and their teams for the purpose of learning about new products and services that will contribute to the retailer’s success.

To remain true to these two objectives, and to create a relevant bicycle industry event that provides value to all delegates, a decision has been reached to postpone the 2011 Specialty Bike Expo. Conducting the 2011 Specialty Bike Expo at this time would have hindered the quality of programming and would not have allowed us to remain truly committed to achieving our objectives.

Hosting Specialty Bike Expo at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center remains a high priority as the Center provides a great venue for this event, with several excellent hotels conveniently located adjacent to the Center. We will not launch Specialty Bike Expo until such time we have the foundation that will allow us to achieve our previously stated goals.

Numerous independent bicycle retailers from key bicycling communities and markets across the country easily access the Northern Kentucky area. It is our intent to soon communicate our plans for Specialty Bike Expo. The support of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau remains high; there are numerous bicycling activities occurring in this region and we are eager to show these off so that retailers and industry suppliers and participants will see the great bicycling progress being made in this area.
